Camp Summit's Leadership program offers Counselors In Training (C.I.T.s) the traditional camp experience of great fun and friendships combined with work-related responsibilities and training. Campers in this program earn community service credits, which can be applied towards their high school transcripts.
Participants in this program are included in all camp activities and have the opportunity to do all the things they love; outdoor adventure, day trips, tournaments, theatre arts, evenings out, etc. These campers are the first in line for Color War Majors and are seen as key players and leaders in this highly anticipated annual camp event.
Also included in the program is a teen tour style trip! Summer 2006 C.I.T.s were flown to California and traveled down the coast by luxurious coach bus stopping in San Francisco, San Simeon, San Luis Obispo, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Flagstaff and Tempe. They visited such amazing sites as:
Grand Canyon |
Alcatraz |
Hearst Castle |
Hollywood Walk of Fame |
UCLA |
Hoover Dam |
Lake Mead |
Red Rock Canyon |
Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum |
Arizona State University |
A comparable trip is being planned for Summer 2007. It will be fully chaperoned and the cost of transportation, food, lodging, and admission to all attractions is included in the tuition.
